JARED TRASKARTIST · DESIGNER · EDUCATOR

HELLO.
I’M JARED.

Painter, designer,
and educator.

I move between the studio, visual communication, and the classroom. Close observation, a love of making, and a designer’s attention to composition connect the work.

THE PRACTICE

Looking closely.
Making connections.

Before the Body Decides, Jared Trask’s painting of a Sonoran rabbit surrounded by fragmented fields, white pathways, and red nodes.

In the studio.

My acrylic paintings bring detailed animal realism into fields of graphic pattern, contrast, and scale. Dense brushwork gives fur, feathers, and a watchful gaze a physical presence; repetition and fractured spaces open another layer of meaning.

Before the Body Decides explores the instant before action. A Sonoran rabbit, a reflected snake, and an approaching eagle turn close observation into a study of anticipation, memory, and instinct.

From idea to experience.

My design practice connects the idea behind a brand with the places people encounter it: a website, an email, a printed piece, or a live event. I work across identity, creative direction, campaigns, and digital design.

At CoolEvents, I led the visual direction of seven event brands, from initial concepts through design execution. That work sits alongside independent projects for tourism, the arts, real estate, and other organizations.

See design & direction

In the classroom. Out in the world.

Teaching extends this practice through other people’s work. I guide students through research, experimentation, critique, production, and presentation, helping them strengthen their craft and creative judgment.

Client collaborations, campus murals, and student creative communities give that process a place in the world. My role is to support the work and help emerging designers develop a voice of their own.
